Fairhope, Alabama (March 2, 2019)

There are days in your life that shape the way you think, in an amazingly positive way, relative to personal experiences and thought patterns you have learned in the past. Without question, the people that we have met and interacted with here in southern Alabama have been so wonderfully kindhearted and deeply genuine, it has absolutely warmed our hearts. We visited Fairhope, Alabama today, located on the magnificent Mobile Bay. The town which was discovered in 1519 and settled in 1702, is filled with rich history. It is stunningly beautiful, situated on bluffs high above the bay, with majestic live oak trees lining the streets. The architecture and preservation of the historic downtown area and upscale homes were magnificent, with every estate different than the next. As mentioned, the people are tremendously friendly, capturing and embracing the southern warmth and charm you hear about. Fairhope is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and impressive places I have ever been. Put it on your bucket list, you will be happy you did!!!!!

Big Daddy’s Grill – Fairhope, Mississippi (March 1 – 2, 2019)

Big Daddy’s Grill respresented our first time using Boondocker’s Welcome, which is a website geared toward RV’rs traveling the US, looking for a free and unique place to stay. There are many private properties, restaurants, museums, and other unique venues that offer thier properties to travelers for a nominal yearly membership fee. We were blown away by the hospitality that Bid Daddy’s owner Jason, and his staff bestowed upon us. We had a fantastic view and it was a wonderful town to explore!

Quincy, Florida (Oh My Goodness, Here We Go!!!!) February 28, 2019

QOh my goodness, here we go, full of emotions, anticipation and excitement!!!!! Today Anna and I begin the grandest adventure of our lives. We dedicated the last month to totally prepare ourselves and practice with our new 5th wheel for our new and highly anticipated RV life on the road. We also were able to see and say to our dearest family and friends “we love you and we will see you later”. While doing so, we camped in four different locations across Florida and Georgia for one week in each location, in anticipation for today, to embark on an eight month trip across the incredible and beautiful country of ours. We will follow the route 10 corridor across the southern United States, explore Utah and Colorado along the way, then head north up the western coastal states, and possibly into Canada as well. Our initial destination on this, the first leg of our glorious journey, is to Ingram’s Marina on beautiful Lake Talquin in Quincy, Florida, about half way across the state. We meet some of the nicest, helpful people here, and loved our brief overnight stay.
