Saguaro National Park – Tucson, Arizona (April 17, 2019)

We love history, so the venue for today was a 4.3 mile hike to view PETROGLYPHS carved into the stone made by the HOHOKAM “the people who have gone” people during the period 200 AD to 1,450 AD. The hike through the SAGUARO NATIONAL PARK was, as we had experienced the days prior, absolutely beautiful. The majesty of the tall Saguaro cacti, color of the other blooming cacti species, the tall, flower topped Ocotillo plants, all encompassed by the rugged rock terrain, adding contour to the landscape, was absolutely beautiful. The petroglyphs on top of rocky SIGNAL HILL were outstanding, taxing my imagination what each carved item was, an animal, a person, the sun. See what you think the figures are and let us know. What a great day for sure!!!!!
