2019 Christmas & Thanksgiving Family Holiday Memories November 28 and December 25 & 28, 2019

Beyond our deep faith, FAMILY and CLOSE FRIENDS mean everything to us!!! Anna and I are INCREDIBLY BLESSED to have a LARGE, LOVING FAMILY, most of which live within two hours our NEW RV PROPERTY IN TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA. We were beyond blessed this holiday season to have FOUR GENERATIONS OF OUR FAMILY together for four separate celebrations during the season. Our direct family, which is only a moderate portion of our large extended family size, consists of 32 FAMILY MEMBERS. To date, our family includes four generations of family members starting with my parents, their 3 kids and 3 spouses, their 13 grandchildren and 4 spouses/significant others, and 7 great grandchildren. Attached is a small sampling of holiday pictures of our amazing family gatherings. Love this crazy, wonderful, loving family!!!!!

Cape Canaveral, Florida – Boeing Rocket Launch December 20, 2019

Anna and I were recently invited to view a recent BOEING ROCKET LAUNCH, up front and personal, from the closest vantage point available to the public, and by invitation only. A huge thank you goes out to our great friend, Leslie Day, who works at the Cape, for this incredible opportunity and experience. What an amazing feeling of excitement to be so close to the launch site, and experience the extreme bright light at liftoff and the loud thrust noise coming across the water shortly afterward. The launch was scheduled for an early lift-off at 6:30AM, requiring us to arrive at the Cape at 5:00AM. To experience a lift-off in the semi-dark was extra special as the light from the booster flames lite up the entire sky in a matter of seconds. We were also able to watch the rocket’s trajectory for a longer period of time, even past the second stage lighting. What a treat, and what a thrill to have witnessed this unique event up front and personal!!!!!!!!

The Great Outdoors – Titusville, Florida (Our new RV Community Home) December 10, 2019 to Present)

Great news, to complement our RV traveling, “nomad” lifestyle, we have also PURCHASED PROPERTY in the wonderful RV COMMUNITY of “THE GREAT OUTDOORS”, located in TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA. Our new RV pad and guest suite provide us with a level of seasonal permanence here in the CENTRAL, COASTAL FLORIDA area, near many of our family members and friends. As so-called “SUN-BIRDS”, running from the extreme summer heat and humidity here in Florida, WE PLAN TO TRAVEL FROM THE MID SPRING TO MID FALL TIME FRAME EACH YEAR, to travel, investigate and thoroughly enjoy this beautiful and impressive country of ours. We INVITE ALL OF OUR FAMILY MEMBERS & DEAR FRIENDS to join us at our new property while we are in town. We are traveling now, but will be back to THE GREAT OUTDOORS FROM APRIL 15 to MAY 15, after a month’s stay at Wickham Park in Melbourne, where we stay from March 15 to April 15, at the tail end of our current Florida trip. We will leave on May 15th for our seasonal trip through the central United States to Michigan, then eastbound through parts of Canada, and ultimately traveling into Maine and down the eastern seaboard of our country. Praise God, we are truly and deeply blessed!!!!

Sebastian, Florida Sebastian Inlet State Park & Surrounding Area November 30 to December 9, 2019

Anna and I are now ON THE ROAD AGAIN, for the NEXT THREE MONTH period, during the glorious winter months here in Florida. On this trip we are traveling in our 5th WHEEL RV to various natural and historic locations in CENTRAL & NORTHERN FLORIDA. Just prior to this trip we stayed at the peaceful and beautiful SEBASTIAN INLET STATE PARK, which sits adjacent the ATLANTIC OCEAN and scenic SEBASTIAN INLET. The park is situated within two counties, Brevard County to the north and Indian River County to the south. The State Park and surrounding areas sport many activities, historic sites, and a vast amount of animals, birds and sea life. The park contains a wonderful campground, an impressive jetty, a peaceful, protected tide pool for swimming, fishing, numerous nature trails, marina, and more. Also within close proximity are DOWNTOWN SEBASTIAN, McLARTY TREASURE MUSEUM, SEBASTIAN FISHING MUSEUM, HISTORIC JUNGLE TRAIL, PELICAN ISLAND NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, ARCHIE CARR NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, and three wonderful HIKING TRAILS (Long Point Loop, Campbell’s Cove Loop, & the Old A1A Loop), with their trailheads starting at the Inlet Marina. This is an awesome, activity filled, but super peaceful destination to consider for your next get-away!!

Anna and I ARRIVED HOME IN MELBOURNE, FLORIDA on November 1st!!!!!! We have been really looking forward to seeing our precious family and dear friends. We BECAME FULL TIME RV’ERS 9 MONTHS AGO, moving into our Forest River Surveyor 5th Wheel on January 31, 2019. Our trip included 24 STATES, 23,000 miles traveled, over 100 NATIONAL PARKS, MONUMENTS, RECREATION AREAS, ETC., in addition to visiting hundreds of other state and local treasures along our path. We visited countless FAMILY & FRIENDS along our path. We also met fabulous new friends as we “BOONDOCKED” (dry camped, no services) on so many generous host’s properties, as well as out in the wild on mesa’s, beaches, mountains and national forests. What an amazing trip, what experiences and memories we gathered. We experienced a literal life time of amazing activities, and bring home MEMORIES THAT WILL BE CHERISHED FOREVER!!!!

Cape Canaveral, FL. (Canaveral National Seashore, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Jetty Park) November 7 & 11, 2019

During the last few days I have spent time within the MERRITT ISLAND NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE and the CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE, where I thoroughly enjoying the solitude and wildlife in this unique destination. Yesterday, Anna and I also spent the day with GARY & SUSAN BONNEAU at JETTY PARK, where they are camping in their gorgeous, new, class A motorhome in CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA. We had such a wonderful time with them and their daughter, Katie. We spent some quality time catching up and cutting up with each other as we do. We also WALKED THE BEACH together enjoying the beautiful weather, ocean waves, and the impressive jetty.  Before dinner we enjoyed a relaxing time sitting on the rocks of the jetty, eating hors devours, and watching the port activity, highlighted by the exit of the massive HARMONY OF THE SEAS cruise ship as it left the port. We also learned, and witnessed, that the port includes a large quarantined section for NAVAL SUBMARINES. To top off the day, Susan made me the most scrumptious SHRIMP BOIL birthday dinner ever. Thank you my friend!!! In summary, when you combine all this with other activities that the area supports, such as the wonderful entertainment section of the port, as well the JOHN F. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, you have a real destination filled with activity!!!

New Smyrna Beach, Florida (Sugar Mill Ruins Travel Park, New Smyrna Beach, J.B.’s Fish Camp, Mike & Debbie Harrison) October 28 – 31, 2019

For the last four days we relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed some time in NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FLORIDA, before arriving home on November 1st, marking the conclusion of our 8 MONTH CROSS COUNTRY TRIP. We had a wonderful time visiting the HISTORIC SECTION OF NEW SMYRNA. We stayed in a wonderful campground, the SUGAR MILL RUINS TRAVEL PARK, which was full of amenities, including an ENORMOUS FLORIDA SHAPED POOL. We also stopped by our favorite restaurant in the area, JB’S FISH CAMP, with a wonderful couple from Nova Scotia, MIKE & DEBBIE HARRISON, that we had just met, for their jumbo shrimp and delicious “jungle juice” dipping sauce that we absolutely crave. We had planned this portion of the trip to RELAX AFTER OUR LONG TRIP AND REJUVINATE A BIT before seeing family and friends upon our return home in MELBOURNE, FLORIDA. Our trip, just one of many to come, was beyond amazing, providing memories to last more than a lifetime. It was nice to slow it down for a few days and relax as well!!!!

Historic Savannah, Georgia October 26, 2019

Today we visited historic downtown SAVANNAH, GEORGIA. What a wonderful city with its glorious TOWN SQUARES, historic RIVER STREET, beautiful SAVANNAH RIVER, vast history, and a plethora of FABULOUS RESTAURANTS and activities to partake of. We enjoyed a delicious seafood meal, on the outdoor, second floor balcony of TUBBY’S restaurant, which overlooks bustling River Street and the beautiful river. We have spent a decent amount of time in Savannah over the last few years, and have enjoyed our time tremendously. It is a town we consider one of our very favorite; historic, beautiful, and plenty to do!!!!!

Skidaway Island State Park – Savannah, Georgia October 24-27, 2019

For the last four days we have spent time at the gorgeous SKIDAWAY ISLAND STATE PARK, which is situated in close proximity to SAVANNAH, GEORGIA. Skidaway Island, located south of the mouth of the SAVANNAH RIVER, is one of Georgia’s inner coastal islands. It is protected by three barrier islands, TYBEE, WASSAW and OSSABAW ISLANDS. The island is very rich in history, with culture including the indigenous native people, and military activity during the American Revolution and the American Civil War. The grounds within the campground are stunning. We hiked 5 ½ miles on four adjoining trails viewing the gloriously large live oak trees draped in flowing Spanish moss. We also witnessed the beautiful fresh and salt water sloughs, shell middens (mounds of oyster shells), a liquor still, and military earthworks (earthen fortifications from the Civil War). The last day, we also road bikes throughout the park and trails for two hours. What a fabulous place to consider camping.

Appalachian National Scenic Trail/Springer Mountain & Swinging Bridge (Evan & Diane Peck) October 22 & 23, 2019

We took full advantage of the last two days staying with our dear friends, EVAN & DIANE PECK. During these two days we HIKED two impressive trails and visited the wonderful MERCIER ORCHARDS as well. The second to last day we hiked to the unique and beautiful SWINGING BRIDGE, an impressive wood and cable system bridge located deep in the mountains. During our final day in north Georgia with the PECK’s we hiked the SPRINGER MOUNTAIN TRAIL, located within the BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS, to the historic southern terminus of the APPALACHIAN NATIONAL SCENIC TRAIL, situated at an elevation of 3,782 feet. This impressive, 2,100 mile trail, completed in 1937, runs along the crest of the APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS, through 14 states, from KATAHDIN, MAINE to SPRINGER MOUNTAIN in northern Georgia. The trail was designated the first NATIONAL SCENIC TRAIL in the United States in 1968. To completed this leg of our trip at the wonderful MERCIER ORCHARDS. What amazing friends and what an amazing place to visit and explore!!!
