Addison Trail & Florida Trail Association Trail The Great Outdoors – Titusville, Florida April 17, 2020

Today Anna and I started our morning by BIKING through our large neighborhood, THE GREAT OUTDOORS in TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA. After biking, we made a last minute decision to HIKE the remote ADDISON TRAIL located on the northwestern side of The Great Outdoors property. We proceeded from there onto a portion of the adjoining “FLORIDA TRAIL ASSOCIATION” TRAIL, owned by the St. Johns Water Management District. The Addison Trail is beautiful, traversing westward along the peaceful ADDISON CANAL built in 1912 & 1913, and lined by live oak trees, red cedar trees, and sabal palms, with impressive and expansive marsh lands fanning out in every direction. Beautiful trail and great day with my sweetheart!!!!!

Cypress Creek Preserve – Land O’ Lakes, FL: Post 2 (Hiking, Animals/Birds, Night Animal/Bird Concert) March 10 – 11, 2020

The weather has been incredible here the last few days. We have been taking full advantage of it enjoying the outdoors, relaxing in our hammocks, but also hiking the balance of the trails in the southern section of the CYPRESS CREEK PRESERVE. The preserve, which has become one of our FAVORITE “BOONDOCKING” LOCATIONS is situated in LAND O’ LAKES, FLORIDA. It is public land managed by the SOUTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DIVISION. The terrain is unique, eco-diverse, and absolutely beautiful. For days all we have seen and enjoyed is peace and quiet, and a large variety of animals and birds. Within the preserve we have witnessed ALLIGATORS, COYOTES, OWLS, TURTLES, HAWKS, WATER FOWL, numerous species of BIRDS, and above all, gorgeous BUTTERFLIES in all colors and shapes. While sitting outside at midnight last night, I listened to the totally quiet surrounding, except for the constant hooting of owls, coyotes yipping as they were apparently hunting their prey, and birds of all types singing and chirping in every direction. It was a virtual ANIMAL AND BIRD CONCERT which I thoroughly enjoyed. Love this place!!!!!!

Dunedin, Florida – March 1, 2020 (Downtown/Harbor, Dunedin Brewery,Tim Beacham, Hammock Park)

We once again had a great time with our son, TIM BEACHAM, visiting the bustling city of DUNEDIN, FLORIDA, located immediately north of CLEARWATER. It had been a long time since I had been to this quaint town, now revitalized and absolutely thriving with new restaurants, breweries, shops, and harbor area. We loved every step as we walked through the wonderful downtown area. The town has a wonderful obsession for dogs, and celebrates them with incredibly detailed and impressive murals of pooches throughout the city. They affectionately call the city “DOGEDIN”, a take-off of DUNEDIN. The harbor was filled with many PELICANS, SNOWY EGRETS, ROSEATE SPOON BILLS, GREAT WHITE HERONS, and other water fowl. We had a wonderful time at a harbor side restaurant and then at the DUNEDIN BREWERY, the OLDEST MICRO-BREWERY IN THE NATION (24 years). Prior to visiting downtown, Anna and I hiked multiple, beautiful, TREE LINED HAMMOCK trails at appropriately named HAMMOCK PARK, a little oasis in the middle of the residential section of Dunedin. The trails were lined with MASSIVE LIVE OAK TREES, SABAL PALMS, SUGARBERRY TREES, and filled with SQUIRRELS and VARIOUS BIRDS everywhere. What an awesome day!!!!

Watson Lake Mountain Loop Trail (Prescott, Arizona) April 22, 2019

We had previously experienced the impressive mountain formations called the GRANITE DELLS, adjacent our campground in PRESCOTT, ARIZONA, from the surrounding vista points and also from our kayaks two days prior as we explored beautiful WATSON LAKE. Today we decided to HIKE 5 ½ miles around the lake on the very vigorous WATSON LAKE MOUNTAIN LOOP TRAIL. The scenery was some of the most stunning we have witnessed. The rock formations were unique as we looked in every direction. The colors and diversity of the various landscapes we traversed were incredible.  Sixty percent of the hike was along the edges of the mountains, or up and over large boulders and rock formations. The hike was not for the faint of heart. Take a look at the pictures that were taken today, and see if you agree that this place is amazing and without question, simply stunning.
