After visiting Blue Springs State Park this morning, Anna and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon in the nearby historic town of DELAND, FLORIDA, located one hour north of Orlando. The town, FOUNDED BY HENRY DELAND IN 1876, is a quaint, charming and very historic town, filled with culture, and is the county seat of Volusia County. One of the main attractions to see in town is the DELAND MURAL TOUR, comprised of 15 impressive murals painted on the sides of various buildings, depicting the history and culture of this wonderful central Florida town. We also enjoyed the many small restaurants and shops along the main road through town, as well as taking in the countless, unique art structures. This is a wonderful town, with friendly people and a warm feel to this cultural town.
